About

I am an event planner and producer who has more than 15 years of experience in communications, events, public relations, protocol, alumni relations and development.

Currently, I work in the Virginia Commonwealth University Office of Development and Alumni Relations where I direct high-profile events and programs that serve the university’s more than 200,000 living alumni.

Most recently, I was Event Manager at Virginia Commonwealth University School of the Arts in Qatar where I managed events, ceremonies, conferences, protocol and symposium.

Prior to packing my life into two suitcases and moving to the Middle East, I was Director of Events and Event Marketing at Virginia Commonwealth University’s Massey Cancer Center where I led the strategy, outreach and marketing for the center’s largest fundraising event—The Massey Challenge—raising in excess of $1.2 million.

Early in my career I honed my media pitching skills at a boutique Washington D.C. communications firm, wrote about rocket scientists at NASA, stepped in front of the camera at an NBC TV affiliate and hosted an online campus tour for Longwood University.

I maintain a professional certification as a Certified Special Event Professional (CSEP) through the International Live Events Association and I am a licensed trainer by The Protocol School of Washington to teach corporate etiquette and international protocol.

I received my B.A. in Communications from Longwood University and a certificate in event management from The George Washington University School of Business.

I am an enthusiastic supporter of the arts and creative industries and through events and experiences I aspire to engage as many people as possible.
